The fabric is called Forest Whispers. I purchased it on Etsy. I needed some extra pot holders/hot pads around the house, so I took my first shot at quilting!

I wanted to use up some fabric I had leftover from an ancient quilt project that was too much of a mess to really be finished and some fabric that had been discolored in a basement flood. I poked around online for some tutorials. This was braided by hand (a long, but relaxing process) and then stitched by machine using a zigzag stitch.
